Business identity, control 3 of 10
E-03 Explain who created content, how and why
Provide enough production context to understand the evidence and incentives behind a page. Disclosure should describe the real process, not add a trust-sounding slogan.

- AUTO_WITH_TEST: A candidate requiring relevant tests.
- Quality bucket
- Business identity
Why it matters
Without knowing who made a page, how it was made and why it exists, readers cannot judge whether it deserves their trust. Google's people-first content guidance uses these three questions to separate content made to help people from content made for other reasons. Being open about testing, data and any AI assistance also stops the page from appearing to hide its origins.
Evidence to review
- Process description compared with actual project records.
How to implement
- Identify responsible contributors or organisation.
- Explain methods, tests and substantial automation where relevant.
- State commercial relationships and the user purpose.
- Keep disclosure proportionate to the content and reader expectations.
How UltimateSEO checks this
Needs your evidence. No automated check covers this control, so it stays UNKNOWN until evidence is supplied.
Evidence needed: whether the site explains who produced the content, how it was produced and why it exists.
States used: PASS, FAIL, UNKNOWN, NOT_APPLICABLE or BLOCKED. UNKNOWN is never shown as a pass. How states work.
