Integrity, control 4 of 7
G-04 Prevent scaled low-value content abuse
Automation may assist valuable publishing, but must not manufacture large volumes of unoriginal pages primarily for ranking manipulation.
- Priority
- Gate. A FAIL stops publish or launch.
- Hard gate
- Yes. A FAIL stops publication, whatever the score.
- Change class
- APPROVAL_REQUIRED: Required exact authority must be valid before the consequential action.
- Quality bucket
- Not scored: hard gate only
Why it matters
Mass-produced pages with little value waste visitors' time and clutter the index. Google's spam policies target this whatever the production method, and its guidance on generative AI features points the same way. AI answer engines gain nothing from pages that add no original value.
Evidence to review
- Generator inputs, sampled outputs, duplication report, evidence coverage and publish approvals.
How to implement
- Before generating a batch, specify the distinct user problem, unique data and maintenance owner.
- Check duplication, factual coverage and representative edge cases.
- Use a small reviewed cohort before expanding; block publication of invented local or product facts.
- Publishing speed and page count are not standalone abuse verdicts. Review utility, intent and network-wide patterns; batching cannot legitimise prohibited content.
How UltimateSEO checks this
Needs your evidence. No automated check covers this control, so it stays UNKNOWN until evidence is supplied.
Evidence needed: how pages are produced, how many are generated from templates or AI without review, and whether each adds value beyond its variations.
States used: PASS, FAIL, UNKNOWN, NOT_APPLICABLE or BLOCKED. UNKNOWN is never shown as a pass. How states work.
