Retrieval and usability, control 1 of 18
R-01 Confirm intent and present the main answer early
The opening should quickly show who the page is for and what useful answer or outcome it provides. Brevity must not remove essential qualifications.

Why it matters
Users who land on a page and cannot see quickly that it answers their question leave. Search engines and AI answer engines also need the main answer near the top to pick it out cleanly. Keeping caveats in place means speed does not come at the cost of accuracy.
Evidence to review
- Opening-section review, mobile screenshot and a task-oriented comprehension check.
How to implement
- Align the heading, opening and primary utility with the user task.
- Remove duplicate hero sections and competing messages.
- Use a concise answer where appropriate, not a mandatory sentence count.
- Check the first mobile screen separately.
- Do not homogenise every first screen into the same answer-box pattern when the page type needs a product, tool, media or navigation first.
